Whiskey making and entrepreneurship have been in the Teeling genes as far back as 1782 when Walter Teeling set up a small craft distillery on Marrowbone Lane in the industrial centre of Dublin City.
Since 2012, Jack and Stephen Teeling, the latest generation of Teeling whiskey makers, have been putting their own mark on Irish whiskey and came full circle in 2015 when they proudly opened the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery just down the road from where the original family distillery once stood. It is the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years and has won several international accolades for excellence over the years.
Perfectly located in the heart of Dublin city centre, and just 15 mins from St. Stephen’s Green, our distillery is a must-see when enjoying a weekend in Dublin with friends or family. There is ample street parking should you be driving, easy public transport access, and plenty to see along the way if you arrive on foot.
We have had a very great tour with Marc, special thanks to him. Tasted some nice whiskeys and seen everything in the distillery. Also for those who do not especially love whiskey (me), it is fun and you can learn a lot.
Cormac was an amazing guide who walked us through the wonders of whiskey with wit and wisdom. He’s probably led tours for years but still sounds excited and engaged. Unlike the Jameson tour in Dublin, this location actually distills their whiskey on site, and you get to see the whole process from malting to maturing. And the tasting had generous pours of deliciousness, nearly twice what Jamo gives ya. Slainte!
This location was high on my list of places to visit. Our tour guide, Lena was very knowledgeable and indulged all our questions. I highly recommend this to all distillery visitors, as you know, the smell of fermenting grain is something special and the factory floor is full of this aroma :)
The tasting selection was extensive. Three tastings were included in the price of our ticket, which was enough to whet one's appetite to try some of the other offerings at Teeling.
