Teeling Whiskey Distillery named World’s Best Whiskey Visitor Attraction

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery has been named the World’s Best Whiskey Visitor Attraction at the prestigious World Whiskies Awards. The distillery beat off stiff competition from other whiskey visitor attractions across the globe to scoop this top accolade at an awards ceremony in London last week.

Having just opened its doors in June of 2015, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery has swiftly proven to be a must-see attraction for tourists from around the world and local whiskey enthusiasts alike. To date the distillery has welcomed over 45,000 people through its doors.
Located in Newmarket Square in the Liberties area of Dublin, it is the first new distillery in Dublin in 125 years and the only operational distillery in the city at present.

As well as guided tours of the distillery, the visitor centre is also home to the Phoenix Café which serves the finest quality locally sourced ingredients from local providers, an exhibition space, a number of private spaces for hire and a retail space stocking the full range of award winning Teeling Whiskey and the Teeling Whiskey Company (TWC) merchandise.
Commenting on the win, Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company commented;
“To be named the best whiskey visitor attraction in the world less than one year after opening our doors is a massive honour. When we launched the Teeling Whiskey Distillery in June of last year, we had two aims. We wanted to bring back the tradition of distilling to Dublin but we also wanted to create a unique visitor experience for both domestic and international tourists. This award is a testament to the hard work that everyone at the Teeling Whiskey Company has put in over the last year. As a company we believe in doing things differently so we will continue to innovate to ensure we are providing a top class visitor experience.”

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery and visitor centre at 17 Newmarket, Dublin 8, is open 7 days a week. Visitors can now access the distillery via the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus, getting off at stop 12A. Visitors can simply walk in or pre-booked tours are available on TeelingDistillery.com.
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery offers a range of fully guided tours around Dublin’s only operational distillery which include the Teeling Small Batch & Seasonal Whiskey Cocktail tasting (€14), the Teeling Trinity Tasting €20 and the Teeling Single Malt tasting (€30) Also now available in the distillery gift shop is the ability to bottle your own exclusive Single Malt with their “Fill Your Own” bottling options to go with the other unique Teeling Whiskey merchandise.
