At Teeling Whiskey we have been proud custodians of some of the oldest Irish Single Malts, and we are thrilled to unveil the pinnacle of our Vintage Reserve Collection with our new “Modern Classic” the Teeling 40-Year-Old Single Malt, which is amongst the oldest Irish Single Malt ever bottled and a rare piece of Irish Whiskey History! 40 years in the making! This was distilled back in 1983, limited to just 140 bottles, aged exclusively in an ex-Bourbon oak barrel and bottled at natural cask strength at 42.2% ABV with no chill filtration, for you to experience the full complexity and depth of this truly remarkable Irish Single Malt like no other!
This adds to our collection of award-winning single malts at Teeling. In less than a decade we have succeeded in putting Irish Single Malt back on the map for whiskey connoisseurs globally, having won “World’s Best Single Malt” in 2019 and eight-time winner of World’s Best Irish Single Malt at the World Whiskey Awards. It is safe to say in this respect, the Renaissance of Irish Whiskey is truly in full swing, and we are proud to lead the next generation of Irish Whiskey producers.

Teeling 40 Year Old Single Malt – Tasting Notes
Nose – Light berry fruit compote with hints of blueberry & strawberry, honey, spearmint, candied orange zest and light spices.
Palate – Warming texture with notes of coconut, milk chocolate, peach sorbet, honeydew melon and tangerine.
Finish – Long luxurious finish with subtle spice, soft oak tannins and honeyed sweetness

As part of the launch of this exceptional Single Malt the Teeling 40-Year-Old Single Malt, we are delighted to announce our new “Phoenix Rising Scholarship Programme” in conjunction with TU Dublin, located three kilometres from the Teeling Whiskey Distillery. Through these scholarships, Teeling Whiskey aim to support and inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators in the Irish Brewing, Distilling and Hospitality Industry. Eligible students will receive mentoring from Teeling Whiskey employees across various different departments, as well as a proportion of the proceeds raised from the sale of the Teeling 40-Year-Old Single Malt funding their studies. Education is the cornerstone of progress in everything we do at Teeling Whiskey, and through these scholarships, Teeling Whiskey aim to give back as much as we can locally here in Dublin. Social sustainability has always been a priority for us at Teeling Whiskey since the beginning and we are committed to playing our part in the Dublin community, supporting those across our industry. We have previously been involved in initiatives with multiple charities, producing bespoke limited edition bottlings, with proceeds funding Dublin charities and fundraising events, as well as staff initiatives for staff development, health and nutritional wellbeing. This Phoenix Rising scholarship programme is something we wanted to do for a long time and we are delighted to now bring it to fruition with this new release.

Vintage Reserve Collection – One of Oldest & Rarest Irish Single Malt
The Teeling 40 Year-Old Single Malt is part of our Vintage Reserve Collection, which consists of a number of unique cask types of exceptional rare and old Irish Single Malts from our family reserve, that have been hand-selected and refined by our Master Distiller Master Blender Alex Chasko. Each bottling in this series of whiskey embodies the essence of Irish whiskey craftsmanship at its finest, inviting connoisseurs to savour the legacy of centuries-old traditions revitalized with a contemporary flair. Previous releases in the Vintage Reserve Collection have included the 33-Year-Old and 37-Year-Old bottlings with the current release being the oldest and rarest bottling to date.
Our Teeling Whiskey 40-Year-Old Single Malt is bottled in a unique, tall glass decanter, which has been hand decorated with gold infill along with a handcrafted super premium gift box and weighted cork to stand proud on any shelf. Each bottle is individually numbered and comes with its own unique certificate of authenticity and invitation to come to the Teeling Whiskey Distillery for a very special tasting!
The Teeling 40-Year-Old Single Malt will be available initially in the Teeling Whiskey Distillery retailing at €15,000 per 70cl before being rolled out to a very select few partners domestically and internationally. This will also be available to taste after your tour at the Teeling Bang Bang Bar (situated on the 3rd floor), where you can sample a range of our award-winning whiskeys and signature craft cocktails.
