Teeling Whiskey Distillery – Dublin’s Only Whiskey Factory!
The first whiskey distillery to open it’s doors in over 125 years is officially open and all of Team Teeling are looking forward to welcoming you to Dublin’s newest landmark!!
The Teelings have a great affinity with The Liberties and have been crafting Irish whiskey here since 1782 when Walter Teeling had a small craft distillery on Marrowbone Lane which is only a short stroll or a large stone’s throw from the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery. During this time Dublin whiskey became globally recognised as the premier whiskey and was famous the world over for its high quality and taste. At one stage, Irish whiskey, made up primarily of Dublin whiskey, commanded 60% of the global whiskey market.
Since the 1990’s Irish whiskey has been in a new “Golden Era” as the smooth and sweet taste of Irish whiskey is being discovered by a new generation of spirit drinkers. For the last 20 years it has been the fastest growing premium spirit globally, attracting some of the largest drinks companies in the world to our shores. However despite its unique heritage and importance to Irish whiskey, Dublin as a centre for distilling has been ignored , until now!
2015 heralded a new chapter for Dublin whiskey with the opening of the Teeling Whiskey Distillery the first new distillery in the city in over 125 years. Jack and Stephen Teeling have brought a new independent voice and style back to Dublin whiskey. With the revival of their family brand and distillery it heralds a new Golden era for Dublin and Irish whiskey.
As well as a fully functioning distillery, there is a state-of-the-art visitor centre which hosts whiskey tasting tours, a café, a bar, a private event space for hire and a gift shop. As this as seeing a fully operational distillery and the goodies associated you will see and smell different aspects of the production process and meet the people involved. During the tour, our “Oompa Loompas” will take each of our visitors through the science of the distillation process to the art of maturation and blending, revealing some of the secrets of how we make our Teeling Whiskey!
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery offers a selection of different tasting options. For an entrance price of €14, visitors to Teeling HQ will receive a full guided distillery tour, Small Batch and craft cocktail tasting. Upgrades are available, with Teeling Trinity Tastings, Single Malt and Vintage Reserve Tastings, Craft Comparison Tastings and intimate tastings with our Master Distiller, Alex Chasko, all available.
The visitor centre is open 7 days a week, to pre-booked tours and walk ins, with everybody welcome!
