Science of Distillation: Science Week Tour & Talk
In celebration of Science Week 2017, we’re delighted to be delving into the science of distillation for a unique evening featuring a tour, tasting and in depth discussion on the science behind whiskey distillation.
The evening will begin with a tour of the distillery with a particular focus on the science behind the whiskey. This will be followed by a guided tasting and talk in our beautiful Alchemy room. Our distiller Paul Corbett will be joined by researchers Dr. Roderick Jones and Darren Cappelli from UCD to give an intimate talk on some of the interesting aspects of whiskey distillation and the similarities and differences to other types of distillation.
Science Week is a nationwide celebration of science and discovery and we’re delighted to be a part of it this year. So much complex science goes into the crafting of our whiskey that can sometimes take a back seat to other aspects of the process, so it’s great to be able to highlight and celebrate that aspect of the distillery.
